3 Description
The LM43602 SIMPLE SWITCHER® regulator is an
1
27 µA Quiescent Current in Regulation
easy
to
use
synchronous
step-down
DC-DC
High Efficiency at Light Load (DCM and PFM)
converter capable of driving up to 2 A of load current
Meets EN55022/CISPR 22 EMI standards
from an input voltage ranging from 3.5 V to 36 V (42V
abs
max).
The
LM43602
provides
exceptional
Integrated Synchronous Rectification
efficiency, output accuracy and dropout voltage in a
Adjustable Frequency Range: 200 kHz to 2.2 MHz
very small solution size. An extended family is
(500 kHz default)
available in 0.5 A , 1 A, and 3 A load current options
Frequency Synchronization to External Clock
in pin to pin compatible packages. Peak current mode
control is employed to achieve simple control loop
Internal Compensation
compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting.
Stable with Almost Any Combination of Ceramic,
Optional features such as programmable switching
Polymer, Tantalum, and Aluminum Capacitors
frequency,
synchronization,
power-good
flag,
Power-Good Flag
precision enable, internal soft-start, extendable soft-
start, and tracking provide a flexible and easy to use
Soft-Start into a Pre-Biased Load
platform
for
a
wide
range
of
applications.
Internal Soft-Start: 4.1 ms
Discontinuous conduction and automatic frequency
Extendable Soft-Start Time by External Capacitor
modulation at light loads improve light load efficiency.
Output Voltage Tracking Capability
The family requires few external components and
terminal arrangement allows simple, optimum PCB
Precision Enable to Program System UVLO
layout. Protection features include thermal shutdown,
Output Short Circuit Protection with Hiccup Mode
VCC under-voltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current
Over Temperature Thermal Shutdown Protection
limit, and output short circuit protection. The LM43602
device is available in the HTSSOP / PWP 16 leaded
2 Applications
package (5.1mm x 6.6mm x1.2mm).
